If Unicorns
Were
Horses,
Could I have
a ride?
I did, in 1974, on Hotai,(The name of the Buddha Laughing,
Who Loves
To Have
His Belly
rubbed),
I rode...
No Horn, Just a Horse,
But SoooWhite,
His Ears Glowed Pinkl
as New Love, in a dolphin's rosy Glance.
And His eyes!
The soul of the Universe,
did there reside...
and All 7 Heavens did Arise
In the Head Behind those Krishna-like Eyes!
He spoke to Me
In my own Voice in my Mind, nipping my foot thru the sleeping
bag, where i slept in the field where the horses lie.
(We stayed Up Late,
Watching Heat Lightning,
All Night,
Off the Oregon Hills,
Like the Earth white-lighting,
and felt some thrills,
Under the Stars).
I had ridden
Duke, the Bay Gelding,
who loved Are of US,
the blue-eyed mare he shared his pasture with,
when I sat @ his grazing feet another day,
and spoke in my mind the Old Indian legend I memorized when a child,
the Legend of the Bronze Horse,
"Whom none with guile shall conquer."
He heard, & let me Ride, in the pasture
where I now awoke
to those beautiful eyes of an all white horse!
But not an albino,
for His eyes were dark, with long lashes,
And no white horse had ever been seen by me in that pasture before.
It was not until later we learned his name was Hotai.
I rode him and told my friend to get on Duke,
with no saddle nor blanket,
no bridle, no rope.
high on his withers
Holding tight to his silky white mane.
We rode to the other end of the pastrue.
He told Me
"Open the Gate"
Then I had Fear
of being called a horse thief,
So I did not..
and always after wondered,
what would have happened if?
He bucked a little,
but gently and I knew he would not hurt me,
but we had to walk back to our stuff a 1/4 mile back.
That night,
@ Mama's Truck Stop,
where we played
On Stage,
our songs of Rainbow wisdom.
shared visions...
I closed my eyes,
to See,
All 7 Kingdoms
of Heaven
in the Head of the
the White Horse,
inside
of
Me
I can
still
Be Free!
